Google Scholar is a tool from Google that searches for scholarly articles. Google Scholar is a great tool to use in conjunction with the Library's databases to perform a good search of the available literature on a topic.

Rather than focusing on how to search within the databases, this session will cover some of mechanics of Google Scholar

  • Overview of Google Scholar
  • Finding Open Access articles
  • Citing articles
  • Finding related articles
  • Creating alerts
  • Using the Advanced Search
  • Saving articles to your library
  • Having Google Scholar show which articles are available to your thorugh the Library
  • Set up the option to export citations to RefWorks

What You'll Need

  • Internet connection
  • A computer with speakers or a headphones

Registration

  • Registration with a Dominican email address is required
  • Space is limited to 20 attendees
  • Registration closes 3 days before the webinar begins
